New Consumer Labels for Broadband - it's the Law
#1
Starting April 10th 2024, all ISPs (internet Service Providers) must make clear and evident the exact nature of their pricing for consumers...

it's the FCC's new requirement.  In October 2024, they will be required to make the "labelling" machine readable.

From ArsTechica: Starting today, ISPs must display labels with price, speeds, and data caps

..."Labels are required for all standalone home or fixed Internet service or mobile broadband plans. Providers must display the label—not simply an icon or link to the label—in close proximity to an associated plan's advertisement."

The labels are required now for providers with at least 100,000 subscribers, while ISPs with fewer customers have until October 10, 2024, to comply...

Here's an example of what one such label might look like...

Let's hope that this serves to eliminate the many instances of "What do you mean my rate is going up?"
