I  didn't read the book, I purchased it for my cousin one xmas thinking he'll loan it to me after reading, nope.

Thr movie is still good. I think a lot of you will relate on many levels.

I shared accommodation in my 20s and yes it was surreal sometimes, so I might enjoy this film. But the reviews are mixed. Thanks for the referral, it's so hard to find films that are quirky comedy these days.

The “Cruel Stars” trilogy (of which two parts are out) is brilliant too.
