CFCs and the ozone hole, we should have just went with the toupee.
Yes, in the series Red Dwarf, there is a joke about fixing the ozone hole with a giant toupee. In 1987 we stopped using CFCs as refrigerants and propellants, that was causing the hole. Now the replacement gasses are decomposing into forever chemicals raining down on the entire world.

Once again the fix for the environmental problem may in fact be much worse than the original problem.
I am all for not destroying our planet but we need to do research before applying bad fixes. This duct tape type repair is in our bodies now and will continue for many years to come.
